In light of the current global health emergency, Nespresso has made the important decision to extend Nespresso Talents for 2020. As the situation is limiting movement and affecting filmmakers ability to create their films, the project deadline will be kept open indefinitely at this stage with further updates to come.
See a statement from Nespresso below:
Nespresso Talents aims to celebrate creativity. This year’s theme “virtuous circles” is a topic we believe is more relevant than ever, especially in this challenging context. Due to the current situation, that is restricting many people in their movement and life, we have decided to extend the submission period for Nespresso Talents 2020 beyond March 25, 2020, as was originally planned.
Filmmakers are encouraged to continue working on/submitting their short films if they’re able to, and a new deadline for Nespresso Talents will be announced as soon as is reasonably possible.
Nespresso is committed to give filmmakers the time they deserve to tell their stories, so our aim is to ensure that all filmmakers around the world that wish to take part in Nespresso Talents will be given the opportunity to do so.
All payments for selected filmmakers remain as outlined in the brief’s Terms & Conditions. All invitations to film festivals for selected filmmakers are also confirmed. However, if the Cannes Film Festival in May is postponed or cancelled, filmmakers will be invited to the next Cannes Film Festival event, whether it takes place in 2020, or 2021.
Submissions for Nespresso Talents are now open indefinitely and the new final deadline will be announced in due time. Creators are invited to submit 2-3 minute vertical (9:16) films for the opportunity to be flown to Cannes Film Festival, be mentored by industry professionals and receive awards from a pool of €50,000.
